Designing with Dreamweaver

MacroChat Smiles All smiles at Macromedia Community Week: Designing with Dreamweaver.

I was on a panel of "experts" discussing Best Practices for designing web sites using Dreamweaver yesterday, and the folks on the broadcasting team posted it for us to enjoy ad infinitum.

You can hear my voice over the Web, and watch me operate the software via Macromedia's slick new Breeze conferencing service (based on Flash).

If you enjoy it, definitely check out the rest of the MacroChats coming up for great tips and information on how to quickly build things with Macromedia tools.

Manufacturing Dissent

In honor of MLK, Jr day, we watched Manufacturing Consent: Noam Chomsky and the Media. After two hours of compelling documentation and thought, Mer and I decided to do something about it.

Here we found some excellent links and ways to activate.

Together, we can make a change. Pass it on!

"Nothing of Importance"

Tuning into the radio early this morning on my way down, I listen to The Declaration of Independence, as read by the folks at NPR.

"We hold these truths to be self-evident"

King George III of England wrote in his diary of this day, 227 years ago, "Nothing of importance happened today."

Save Our Schools

Across the nation, schools are suffering. Tens of thousands of teachers have received pink slips and looming budget deficits only promise worse to come. Congress is talking about cutting taxes and cutting budgets -- not about how to keep the schools and essential services going. We believe that:

"Congress must insure that basic services like our nation's schools are funded before approving more tax and budget cuts."

Please write or volunteer if you can't spare the cash to help MoveOn.org Save Our Schools.

Gradiation

I exited the amphitheatre, diploma in one hand, wiping a laden brow with the other, fully immersed in the sentimental drivel of graduation day.

I have many thoughts on my home for the past four years, most of which are contained in a guided tour of the college that was in place while you were attending. Now, they have this.
