49 Percent Podcasting

Hello Odeo!

You should now be able to drag-and-drop my feed into iTunes and help yourself to my podcast. Next, all I need to do is get my DJ on!

[Update: iTunes has identified my Ruby on Rails post and the Jake Shimabukuro post as podcasts. When I 'Get' them, iTunes plays the video that is linked within the posts. Very cool, but I don't own the copyright on those, so I hope I'm not infringing or anything.]

Spend a day or so building a useful Rails app
Install Rails on DreamHost (5 mins)
Finish a Rails app and start selling it

Tally of the Switched

One of my favorite things to do is turn people on to the Macintosh computer. I gave my buddy Wolfgang an iMac G3 for his 6th Birthday. I just set up Simple Finder and 'voila' it's a whole new Mac.

He called me after hooking it up, right when he got home.

"I like it very much," he declared.

Then he had to get back to watching Star Wars on it.

One Less Car

It's been over a year since I sold my car and got a bicycle. I've been riding to work almost every day since then and it has been excellent, as predicted. I have discovered some essentials of bicycle commuting:

Clipless pedals
A patch kit
Shuffle and Treo
Commuting off hours
The hurricane suit (vs. rain)
More...

One of these days, I'll rig my iSight to the top of my helmet, and film the entire commute. For now, a snapshot of my route, taken from Gmaps Pedometer:

It's been a lot easier since I ditched the backpack.
